Our oil cooler works to maintain your engine's oil temperature in the 190 - 220 degree range while you're moving and ALSO when you're stalled in traffic, or idling for long periods of time, the time you need it the most. The fan puts out a whopping 150 CFM, moving a lot of air over the Ultracool cooling fins, keeping your oil in the proper temperture range.

Fitment: 2001 and Newer

This model WILL work with an Oil Temp Gauge.

This model is for engines that are smaller than a 103.

This model will NOT fit with ABS brakes.

Proper oil temperature is very critical to the correct operation of your motorcycle's engine. Oil that is too cold tends to be thick and has a difficult time lubricating the moving parts of your engine, causing unnecessary wear. Oil that is too hot, isn't helping to cool your engine and it's not lubricating correctly due to a too thin viscosity.
Here's how the UltraCool works:
When you start your cold engine, the termal switch remains closed so that the engine oil circulates thru the UltraCool, but the fan does NOT run, this way the cold oil can start to heat up as it normally does while circulating thru the engine.
When the engine oil reaches approximately 220 degrees the UltraCool fan turns on and starts to cool the engine oil back down to approximately 190 degrees, maintaining your oil in the optimal temperture range of 190-220 degrees.
It's also important that the UltraCool cooler allows the oil to reach a temperature of 220 degrees in order to boil off contaminants that collect in the oil.

The nice thing that sets our oil cooler apart from the others is that ours has a thermostat that keeps the oil flowing thru your motor while it warms up to the proper temp to burn off the contaminants in the oil from sitting. All of the experts say that the proper oil temperature operating range is 190 to 220 degrees. If you get stopped in traffic or riding slow and the oil temp gets to 220 degrees the fan kicks on, cooling the oil back down to the 190 degree range. It will then continue to cycle the oil using the fan to keep it in this 190-220 degree range. All of the other coolers out there all depend on the bike to be moving to get the wind across the cooler to cool the oil. Well, if you were moving you wouldn't have the problem of the motor overheating. It's when you're not moving that you really need the cooler and that's where the fan comes into play.
