UltraCool Harley Oil Cooler

You may think there's no need for a different type of oil cooler, but if you want your machine to operate at top performance levels, then we recommend you have the innovative UltraCool installed on your Harley-Davidson and after-market motorcycles. Our oil cooler works to maintain your engine's oil temperature while you're moving, when you're stalled in traffic, or idling for long periods of time. Proper oil temperature is very critical to the correct operation of your motorcycle's engine. Oil that is too cold tends to be thick and has a difficult time lubricating the moving parts of your engine, causing unnecessary wear.
 
Here's how the UltraCool works:
 
When you start your cold engine, the termal switch remains closed so that the engine oil does NOT circulate thru the UltraCool radiator, this way the cold oil can start to heat up as it normally does while circulating thru the engine.
 
When the oil reaches approximately 180 degrees the termal switch opens and the warm oil starts to go thru the UltraCool radiator  and back into the engine but the UltraCool fan is NOT running.
 
When the engine oil reaches approximately 240 degrees the UltraCool fan turns on and starts to cool the engine oil back down to approximately 200 degrees, maintaining your oil in the optimal temperture range of 200-240 degrees.
 
It's also important that the UltraCool cooler allows the oil to reach a temperature of 220-230 degrees in order to boil off contaminants that collect in the oil.
